Getting Married

Tonight Tallie told her daddy, under her veil, that she was getting married. Not sure how this is going to sit with the Old Man.

Tallie's 1st Day of Preschool

She is so excited to see Ms. Jennifer and Miss Amber again today! She got to meet them last Friday and Loooves them! She woke at 6 am to crawl in bed with us and couldn't stop giggling and squirming. Isn't she a doll in her uniform? I'm smitten  with her; she's magical.

Palisade Peach Heaven

My girlfriend and I canned 40 quart-size jars of these delectable treats yesterday, froze 72 cups, and are dehydrating still more. They are such a treat and I don't want to ration them this year. Maddie ate 3 of them yesterday alone!

Look at this feast!

Thank you Sean and Jess for this great meal! The picture does not even come close to doing it justice. Steaks with sautéed mushrooms, (Olathe) sweet corn on the cob, fettuccini with two different homemade Alfredo sauces (traditional and chili), Caprese salad, garlic, cheese bread, and grilled onions, peppers and Portabellas. Oh my goodness! Please come for Christmas dinner! Thanks for the laughs too. All that's left is to tackle the 100-acre Woods idea and our deflated Tigger. Yes, you had to be there.

A Sweet Day

We woke this morning and decided to make it a girls' day while John's away camping. We headed straight for Starbucks in our jammies. We came home to enjoy our scones, latte, steamer and water (Tallie does not dig Starbucks coffee drinks and so she ordered an ice water with her blueberry scone) over our Bible stories. The stories the girls picked-out wove together so perfectly with the theme that God protects his people. The girls were cheering out loud when David struck down Goliath and when the Red Sea parted and God's people walked across on dry land. It was awesome! Even Maddie was cheering!

Next we headed to the garden, where we picked strawberries and Maddie- my happy helper- watered the cucumbers. She was covered in mud, but so delicious.
We rushed to get ready for church and made it to enjoy worship despite our tardiness! It was so intentional and lovely. While the bigs girls napped later than usual, Maddie- again, such a happy helper aka the terrorist- assisted in folding laundry. It was all over the master bedroom and she dressed herself as you can see.
.
And the Grand Finale, a lemonade and Gatorade stand! Piper made the sign and the whole neighborhood came out in support. The girls made $5.25 at .25 cents a glass (and Piper got to give Beau a hug, the neighbor boy she thinks she's going to marry).
A sweet day, indeed!
