Dressin' Up

Fairy Gardens
We've joined in all this hullabaloo about fairy gardens and made our own with our friend Jane. It was an all day adventure, but so fun!

We planted star gazers. fairies use the dew off their petals to make a potion to keep them invisible. we also planted lobelia, which attracts good fairies. Didn't they turn out so cute?!

Tallie's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Tallie is so excited to be starting Kindergarten. I told her this morning, "I'm so sad you're leaving me. I'm gonna miss you. Will you miss me?" After a long pause, Tallie replied: "but I'll never forget you, mom."

"Well phew, because I'll be back at 4 to pick you up."

How can you not smile after that? Love her sweet little soul.

John and my prayer for her is that she gains more and more confidence as she learns and that she meets a special, kind friend this year because one-on-one connection is what makes her tick (kinda like her nana Bethie whom she's named after.) We are also praying that for Piper.

For Piper: We're praying she continues to externalize kindness, which is not natural to her, and that she becomes a positive leader, which so suits her "red" personality.

And lastly, we are praying daily God will continue to give us wisdom and patience as we parent our four lovely (and wild) children.

Here's to the beginning of another school year!

(And some exhausted children at the end of the day. See above.)

Palisade Peaches

It's that time of year again. The sweetest, melt in your mouth, peaches are in season! Even though about 90% of the crop was lost due to a late spring freeze, I managed to get our hands on a box. Yummy!
